Sonia Taouhid is a French-Moroccan designer born in Paris suburbia. She launched her brand in London in 2015, with the intention of representing women of all backgrounds and from all over the world, by rewriting the classics to offer original, updated, elegant, timeless, wearable and -sometimes- theatrical means of self-expression. All while taking a slow approach.
Her eponymous brand’s essence inherits Sonia’s own style. A duel of contrasting elements: traditional and modern, architectural and organic, raw and sophisticated, dignified yet playful. The garments are designed to empower the wearer and reveal their inner strength.
Every garment is meticulously designed, crafted and slowly produced by Miss Taouhid in her atelier located in her first boutique in Stoke Newington, with thoughtfully curated fabrics from the best suppliers in England, sometimes vintage fabrics and her very own prints. A slow approach is applied to every step of the making process with hand-finished techniques and the inclusion of unique details (rhinestone buttons, lace, specially placed pockets and so on) in her garments. This approach means that a very limited quantity of each design comes out from the atelier into her boutique and onto her e-store.
She also has designed for several years now iconic bespoke uniforms for members of staff at well-known London venues like Sketch and Momo.
A bespoke service is offered upon request where the same unhurried method is taken, which includes several appointments and fittings to get the best-suiting silhouette. Please check the bespoke section on the drop menu of our website, or contact Sonia Taouhid on email@example.com for more information.
